“These urns are hand-built with black clay. The exterior is gently burnished using my grandmother’s old silver spoon. Burnishing takes time and care but allows me to leave most of the exterior unglazed, highlighting the soft beauty of the raw material. The abstract lines on top of the black clay are made with a copper wash. As a conductor of heat, the copper warms to the touch, allowing for ephemeral fingerprints to form—fleeting connections between the urn and its holder.”
Ashes can be placed in a zip lock bag inside a calico bag.
