Send-Offs With The Last Hurrah

At the heart of our way of farewelling people is the desire to keep everyone together in one place as much as possible. The traditional format of having to drive between locations isolates people and loses the momentum and energy of keeping everyone together. For this reason we aim to keep any ceremony or service and the wake to follow in the one location.

We work with so many different venues and are always happy to go somewhere new, set up at your home, on a farm, by the beach or hunt down somewhere unique that fits your person best.

We break our pricing into Catered or Self-Catered options to keep things clear and simple when you’re considering a venue. For people on a tight budget we have some terrific options in our Farewell on the Green Packages.

Catered Venues

Self-Catered Venues

We’re quite sure we’re the only funeral company that offers this unique way of sending off your person. In this model we assist you with every aspect of creating a memorable send-off, and we stay for the whole day. Prior to the day we help you to decide on what sort of catering you want (we partner with the amazing Fabulous Catering, but also support pot-luck style events and any other catering you might desire). We also put together a Dan Murphys order for booze and a Woolies order for other drinks, approve it with you, and pick it up, chill it, transport it and serve it on the day. We also provide tea, coffee, milks, compostable party-ware and some catering ware.

We set up the entire space, and our dedicated AV tech ensures everything is working smoothly and sounding great. Our team welcomes your guests, usually with a welcome drink and our incredible ceremony-makers guide everyone through a service that your person would approve of.

If your late legend is present in their coffin, at the close of the ceremony they are taken to the hearse and everyone waves them off before rolling into the wake. At that point our team morph from funeral directors to hospitality staff, ensuring the wake is smooth, the drinks flow and the food is served, before cleaning up and even removing rubbish at the end.

Although costs may seem higher at the outset, compared with a catered venue, most people find this model works out cheaper or on par, and offers ultimate flexibility with venue choice and location. This option includes home funerals.

Costs depend on the number of people attending, as outlined below, and include all basic inclusions as outlined above.

NB: Venue hire and catering/drinks costs are additional

Under 100 people: $8750.00

Up to 150 people: $9150.00

Above 150 people: $9600.00

For major events such as a farm festival, events over 300 people, or large outdoor events an additional fee of $650 applies

Memorial with no deathcare: Prices as above with a hefty discount - please ask

Farewells on The Green

If you’re on a tighter budget, but want to have a Last Hurrah – this is a perfect option for you. Have your person’s send off at a bowling club or one of our specially selected ‘cool’ RSL’s – they provide the bar service, we create ceremony and a warm welcome, and our dedicated AV tech ensures everything is working smoothly and sounding great. Fabulous catering supply a fantastic grazing table – other catering options also available!

If your late legend is present in their coffin (not available at all venues), at the close of the ceremony they are taken to the hearse and everyone waves them off before rolling into the wake. We stay until the wake is in full swing, then depart.

We’ll Go Almost Anywhere…

We love an adventure, a challenge, and really nailing a brief, so if you have an idea for a send-off that isn’t mentioned here just drop us a line for a yarn.

It’s true that we don’t go to churches (but clergy can come to us), and if you’re trying to cram 300 people in a space meant for 150, we’ll definitely offer you some kind guidance, but we certainly do love something authentic, unique and off the plan!

End of Life & Continuity of Care

We offer End-of-Life Care including ‘Death Doula’ style support, funeral planning and continuity of non-medical help and support for people living with a terminal illness, choosing Voluntary Assisted Dying or looking at home-death and deathcare. You can also call for a chat about any aspect of the end-of-life experience; we’re here to help, no strings attached.

Irish-style Wakes

We can support you to bring your person home in their coffin, casket, or shroud for an afternoon, overnight stay or longer, so you can have a rousing gathering full of laughter, tears, memories and the kind of knees-up your late legend would have approved of.

This package can be added to any of our existing offerings including a direct cremation, allowing you to have an intimate and well-rounded send-off without a formal service. Some people have this and a full funeral - it’s entirely up to you!

Any cremation/burial costs and further memorials are additional.

Your child’s funeral or memorial is your final, tender act of parenting. We can offer specialised help and assistance to families at this incredibly sad and difficult time. We can also assist with direct cremations and burials.
