Definitions and Capacities
We use sand to measure the capacity limit of our urns, all urns on our website will give you an approximate capacity in Milliliters and Litres. Your general cremation capsule (that blue or teal plastic tub) holds up to 3.4L, ashes can be scattered directly from this capsule by cutting a corner off, so it pours nicely.
Adult Size Urn: That’s teenagers up to old folk, designed to hold the ashes entirely.
Capacity: 2.5L - 3.5L of ashes
Large Urns: On occasion a large urn will fit ashes entirely, and it’s also a great size option if you are splitting the ashes in two.
Capacity: 1L - 2.5L of ashes
Medium – Small Urns: These are perfect to splitting the ashes among many, or if you just want to keep a portion and scatter the rest.
Capacity: 100ml - 750ml of ashes
Keepsakes: For keeping a small memento of ashes, keepsake can be anything, a small vessel that reminds you of your person. Many choose an adult urn and a few keepsakes for the family or friends.
Capacity: 10ml - 100ml of ashes
Infant urns: These are often specifically designed for your darling one, soft tones and delicate details. While some are more playful and vintage. Some parents often choose a keepsake and scatter the rest of the ashes.
Capacity: 100ml – 750ml or ashes
Cremation Jewellery: A specially designed pendant to hold a small portion of ashes, lots of different styles, some classic and some for the weirdos.
Capacity: tiny tinyyyy pinch of ash.
Hairloom Trinkets: Victorian hair art was prominent in the 17th and 18th century, most who delve into the macabre have been aware of its revival in modern society. We have some pendants and small keepsakes that can hold you persons lock of hair.
